Always-On Display
The Apple Watch has an always-on display, so why not the iPhone? You could leave your phone on your desk and always see a clock and your notifications. It would save some time as you wouldn’t have to wait for the iPhone to wake up or the screen to turn on. You could technically do that now by leaving the screen on all the time, but that would quickly kill your battery. Always-on technology uses slow refresh rates and deep blacks, so you can leave the OLED screen on and it won’t drain the battery much.
