Leaked Images Hint at 3 Unique iPhone 8 Color Options
In one of his latest research notes, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that Apple’s iPhone 8 would be offered in “fewer color options” than the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus, primarily as a way of differentiating the high-end handset from its more modest counterparts. Since then we’ve seen an avalanche of iPhone 8 leaks showing the redesigned flagship adorned in a variety of new and interesting colors. While Apple will more than likely release the iPhone 7s, 7s Plus, and iPhone 8 in popular colors like Jet Black, we've provided three additional color options that could also make the cut. 3 Copper Gold
The rumor of this interesting new color scheme first surfaced courtesy of leaked images published to Weibo over the weekend. As you can see above, the color exudes a rather beautiful matte, brownish-copperish hue on the rear panel, while the sides and camera hardware are encapsulated by what appears to be a shiny, yellow-gold frame.
It certainly is a unique offering for a high-end device like the iPhone 8, and is sure to differentiate the handset even from the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus’ Gold colors. Still, until further notice we recommend taking this with a grain of salt, as we have no further information on this color yet.
2 Mirrored Silver
It was revealed in a Tweet earlier this summer by iPhone aficionado, Benjamin Geskin, that the iPhone 8 could be made available in a mirror-like, polished silver finish, similar to that in the image above.
At the time, Geskin claimed that the images in his Tweet were provided by sources with familiar knowledge of Apple’s plans, and notably alluded to a device boasting truly mirror-like attributes (almost like the polished silver rear casings of Apple’s iPod Touch models). Nevertheless, while it’s yet to be confirmed or corroborated by additional reports, the mirror-silver finish seems like another great color to differentiate the iPhone 8.
1 Jet White
It seems only logical that if Apple were to release a Jet Black iPhone 8, it would also release a 'Jet White' variant, right? Well, the question of whether we’ll actually see a Jet White iPhone 8 is still very much open for discussion. Release of a Jet Black variant we can be assured, but rumors about a Jet White option have been wildly conflicting.
Earlier this year, rumors surrounding a Jet White iPhone 8 model first surfaced in a research note from KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo. Later, at the end of July, that prediction was corroborated when images of a supposed Jet White iPhone 8 surfaced on the Chinese social networking website, Weibo, before making their way onto Twitter. While the Jet White color may be desirable to some more so than others, an even more recent report suggested there might not even be a Jet White iPhone 8 option. So take this one, too, with a grain of salt, knowing that we're just a few short weeks away from laying all these rumors to rest.
