New iPads
Last year’s iPad Pro models didn’t have many new features to justify upgrading. We got a slightly better A12Z Bionic chip that wasn’t much different than the A12X chip. Making matters more confusing, Apple released a new iPad Air that was a game-changer. It featured a brand new design, a USB-C port, and support for the second-generation Apple Pencil. All of that but for almost half the price of the iPad Pro.
This year, Apple will try again and update its iPad Pro models so that the company can compete with itself. We should expect the new iPad Pro to have the same design as the current generation. Albeit, Apple is supposedly working on displays with mini-LED technology. On the inside, the new iPad Pro should have at least the A14 Bionic chip, which is the same Apple used on the fourth-generation iPad Air.
Likewise, Apple is working on a new iPad mini. However, this is bittersweet news for iPad mini fans. Yes, we’ll see a new iPad mini, but it’ll be similar to the current version. Apple will change the display to make it 8.4-inches by reducing the device’s bezels. Other than that, the design will remain the same, with the same Touch ID on the Home button. And of course, it’ll also boost the internals to make it more powerful for today’s standards.
