Here Are the Most Exciting New Products Announced at Samsung’s Unpacked Event
Samsung’s Unpacked event made quite the splash in San Francisco, where the company introduced an array of new devices they'll be releasing over the course of the year. There were expected reveals like the latest versions of their flagship smartphones, as well as some "surprises," like Samsung's widely-speculated foldable phone.
Without a doubt, Samsung’s Unpacked event showcased some very impressive mobile tech that's coming our way. From new reverse wireless charging headphones to foldable phones, continue reading to learn everything you need to know about the exciting new products announced at Samsung’s Unpacked event.
Samsung Galaxy S10e, S10, S10+ and S10 5G
Let's start with the next generation of Samsung’s best-selling flagship smartphone lineup.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 has a few noteworthy improvements including a new HDR Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O Display (which Samsung touted its ability to deliver a cinema-grade experience).
The device also introduces a revamped multi-camera setup capable of producing stunning wide-angle shots.
You'll also notice there aren't any camera notches on the front-sides of these devices. Instead Samsung has used lasers to, literally, cut a hole from each of the AMOLED displays, which ultimately allows room for a discreet selfie-camera.
However, the biggest story coming from the new Samsung Galaxy models was the introduction of the S10 5G. All higher-end specs aside, the S10 5G was built to work with the world’s fastest mobile internet connection.
While 5G wireless networks are still in their infancy, the unveiling of this smartphone shows that we are inching closer to a nationwide rollout.
All four Galaxy models will be available for preorder February 21st.
Samsung Galaxy Fold
The introduction of the long-awaited foldable phone dazzled the crowd in San Francisco and pretty much stole the show.
The Galaxy Fold features a 4.6-inch external display that opens up to a 7.3-inch tablet thanks to its patented Infinity Flex display.
Two batteries separated by a hidden hinge system allow the smartphone to, well, fold. If that wasn’t impressive enough, the Galaxy Fold will allow users to operate three applications at once, taking full advantage of the phone’s expanding display. Expect this beauty to hit the market in April.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active/Galaxy Fit
Samsung didn’t only introduce their new flagship phone lineup, but the company also unveiled its next generation of fitness watches.
The sleek, lightweight and minimalistic Galaxy Watch Active facilitates health and fitness management through dozens of available tools. The device also tracks your daily routine to help balance your workouts, overnight sleep and will also be able to track your blood pressure.
The more aerodynamic Galaxy Fit features the same operating system as the Galaxy Watch Active but in a more traditional fitness band design.
The Galaxy Watch Active will be available for preorder on February 21st and full release date will be March 8. The Galaxy Fit still doesn’t have an official release date yet but expect it sometime late 2019.
Samsung Galaxy Buds
This is Samsung’s blatant attempt to compete with Apple’s AirPods and let's just say, things are about to get interesting.
Samsung’s new wireless headphones not only look (and supposedly sound) great, but they are also priced at an attractive $129.99.
However, what makes this pair of wireless headphones stand out is their ability to accept wireless charging. Samsung equipped the Galaxy Buds with their device-to-device wireless power-share technology that allows one to charge their headphones wirelessly with a Samsung S10 variant or other compatible devices.
Easy charging, long-lasting battery life and an affordable price make the Galaxy Buds a great addition for Samsung.
