Manage Your Apple Watch Apps
By default, your Apple Watch will install companion apps to any compatible iPhone apps you have installed. And while that’s a useful feature, not only will it take up too much space with apps you don’t want to use, but it may also slow down your Apple Watch over time. To disable this feature, do the following:
- On your iPhone, open the Watch app.
- Tap on General.
- Toggle Automatic App Install off.
Moreover, you can actually change your App View to make it look like a list that more people prefer.
- Open the Watch app.
- Tap on App View.
- Choose between Grid View or List View.
Finally, you can arrange your Apple Watch apps, so you have the most often used ones in the middle of your grid view. You can do this on both your iPhone or Apple Watch, but the iPhone option is way easier.
- Open the Watch app.
- Tap on App View.
- If you have Grid View selected, tap on Arrangement.
- Press and drag any app and move it to wherever you want.
If you want to do it on your Apple Watch, go to your apps by pressing the Digital Crown and press and hold an app until they all start to jiggle. Press and drag any app and move it around to where you want to.
