Did You Notice These 4 Things Missing from Apple’s Latest Event?

Just this week, Apple finished its September event with a bang. There were a lot of new products and updates that will keep us talking for weeks to come – like a new iPad, iPad mini, the long-awaited iPhone 13, and more. Apple didn't leave anything behind - or did it?
Don't get me wrong, Apple's California streaming event was thrilling. Beautifully edited shots and videos, cool new tech, and many surprises. Still, there were a lot of missing products that most of us wanted to see.
Maybe we're a little spoiled, but we were still expecting "one more thing." Continue reading to browse four missing Apple products we wanted to see during the Apple Event.
New Third-Gen AirPods
There were three things the tech industry was sure Apple would reveal during its September event: iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7, and AirPods 3. So, what happened?
Unfortunately, the many rumors saying that Apple would release the AirPods 3 in September weren't correct. Whether it was a mistake or Apple moved the AirPods' announcement date on purpose, one thing's for sure: They aren't out just yet.
Many people can't wait to switch out their old AirPods for the new AirPods 3, which are said to have a similar design to the AirPods Pro, with better battery life and improvement to lows and bass. Unfortunately, we'll still have to wait an unknown amount of time until we actually see them.
Apple Watch SE Update
As Apple would say, the Apple Watch Series 7 is the best Apple Watch yet. It's more durable, has a larger display, and comes with many new features. And yet, some people aren't looking for all the most advanced stuff. That's why Apple created the Apple Watch SE as an affordable way to upgrade our Apple Watches. Of course, that comes with a few compromises.
One of the biggest features missing on the Apple Watch SE is the Always-On Display. I would've liked Apple to release a new Apple Watch SE with an AOD and a few more improvements. That way, older Apple Watch users might be more compelled to upgrade and finally leave the older Apple Watch Series 3 behind. Maybe next year, I hope!
A New Apple Pencil
There have been a lot of rumors pointing out that Apple is working on the third-generation Apple Pencil. And if that's true, Apple's event would've been a great place to announce it. Instead, Apple revealed the new iPad and iPad mini during the event.
A big surprise was that the original iPad will still only support the first-generation Apple Pencil, whereas the iPad mini now supports the Apple Pencil 2. The event would've been a great opportunity for Apple to reveal the new Apple Pencil and give support for the Apple Pencil 2 to both of the new iPads. I guess we'll still have to wait on this one.
A 20th Anniversary iPod Surprise
Okay, I know the iPod doesn't seem as important as it used to be. After all, who would buy what's basically an iPhone without the "phone" part? Well, there are people who still buy them, and this year would've been a great time to update the iPod touch for a few reasons.
For one, it's really old. The current-generation iPod touch might work fine, but it could be better – at least it's upgradable to iOS 15.
There have been rumors that Apple's working on a new iPod touch that would have a similar design as the iPhone and 2021 marks the 20th anniversary of the iPod, but it seems Apple won't do anything about it.
Don't get me wrong, MP3 players are a bit outdated by now, but a new, special edition iPod touch would've been a nice surprise during this month's event – even for just the kids.
