Threes!

Threes! is an App Store classic at this point, and for a good reason. It’s just one of those games that looks incredibly simple until you realize how much strategy goes into every move. 

Threes! is a number puzzle game where you slide tiles around a small grid, combining them to create increasingly valuable numbers.

The rules are easy to understand. Ones combine with twos to create threes, while matching numbers above three can combine to create bigger numbers. Your objective is to keep combining tiles and earn as many points as possible before the board fills up.

Of course, you can’t move every tile individually. Swiping moves the board in a particular direction, so you’ll need to think about how each decision affects the rest of your tiles.

The game is great if you just want to mindlessly fidget with something on your screen. But eventually, you’ll reach a point where a careless move can ruin several minutes of planning. So you need to be careful if you actually want to make progress.

Fortunately, there’s no timer forcing you to make quick decisions, so you can take as much time as you need.
