8 Disable Background App Refresh
Background App Refresh allows apps to continue running in the background and refresh their content while you’re using other apps on your iPhone. For instance, the Mail app will run in the background to fetch new emails as soon as they arrive. This will have a significant impact on your iPhone’s battery, especially if there are apps that consume a lot of battery. You’d be better off disabling Background App Refresh altogether or for apps with high battery consumption.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on General.
- Tap on Background App Refresh.
- Next, toggle off the feature completely or disable it on a per-app basis.
If certain apps have a high battery consumption, then disable Background App Refresh for those apps only.
