Before this WWDC, you could argue that Apple didn’t care much for both the Apple TV and the HomePod. Both devices existed, but they didn’t get much love overall.

The Apple TV is now receiving some attention from Apple with tvOS 26, but the HomePod remains overlooked.

Of course, the HomePod has never been that popular, but there were rumors that Apple might introduce a new “homeOS” operating system. Alongside that rumor, there have been reports that Apple is working on a new HomePod with a display, a wall-mountable home hub, and even a smart home doorbell and security camera.

These rumors have gained popularity, which is why many HomePod fans were expecting some news during Apple’s presentation.

Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. That doesn’t mean it won’t ever happen, as some people speculate that Apple will announce homeOS alongside the new products, at least some of which have been held back by its struggles with Siri. We’ll just have to wait a little longer.
