Get Notified to Clean the Camera Lens

This is a really cool feature you didn’t know you needed. Blurry photos are often caused by a smudged lens. Apple knows this, which is why iOS 26 can now detect it and tell you to wipe your lens before ruining your next photo. You may not use this feature every time, but it will be particularly helpful when it counts.

Lens Cleaning Hints should be turned on by default, but you can enable or disable them by doing the following:

1. Open the Settings app.
2. Scroll down and go to Camera.
3. Scroll down to the bottom and turn on Lens Cleaning Hints.

Now you can use the Camera app, and if your iPhone detects that the lens is dirty, a small suggestion will appear near the top of the screen, advising you to clean your lens.
