With the big ‘iPhone 7’ launch event set to take place less than 24-hours from now, one could easily reason that these constant rumors are getting awfully stale by now, right? Well, be that as it may, the rumor mill doesn’t stop churning for anyone, and now, we have a few interesting bits of last-minute, although inherently questionable, rumors to share with you this morning.

According to the little-known Vietnamese tech blog, Tinhte.vn, its writers got a chance to sit down with a fully functional, 4.7-inch iPhone 7 handset over the weekend — and, though they provided no photo evidence of the hands-on encounter, they were able to determine that the device will, among other things, feature 4K video recording at a whopping 60 frames per second (fps) refresh rate. If true, that would mean an effective doubling of the iPhone 6s’ 4K @ 30fps capabilities, which would be a much welcomed addition.

Of course, the bump in fps would entail substantially smoother and more fluid video recording at the highest standard high definition currently being employed. However, on the downside, recording 4K @ 60 fps would require a significant amount of free storage space on the device.

But hey, we’re getting double the storage this year, after all, right? So that shouldn’t be too much of a problem for most users.

In addition, the site alleges that Apple will actually be scrapping the venerable ‘Space Gray’ color option this year, altogether — instead replacing it with the ‘deep black’ hue that we’ve been hearing about for a while now. Strangely enough, though, the site also claims that the surface of the new ‘deep black’ color option is more prone to picking up fingerprint smudges, which suggests that perhaps Apple decided to go with a glossy, Piano black color, a la the company’s iPhone 4 and 4s.

In addition to these aforementioned rumors, Tinhte.vn seemed to confirm other previous rumors, including those that have suggested the ‘iPhone 7’ will launch with an all-new ‘Force Touch’-sensitive home button in place of Apple’s traditional click-style home button. The site claims that only minimal pressure needs to be applied in order to activate the device’s Touch ID fingerprint reader. However, this apparent transition to a click-less home ‘button’ could also be a welcome change, as it would prevent users from accidentally clicking to wake the device in their pockets, or reverting back to the home screen unexpectedly.

One final note is that the site also claims Apple will be switching to a “rubberized SIM tray covering” this year, which may or may not suggest that the device will be waterproof like several of its rivals — or, at the least, boast an improved layer of water protection.

Either way, it’ll be less than a day until we find out exactly what Cupertino has in store! Be sure to check back in with us tomorrow morning after 10 am Pacific Time when all of the ‘iPhone 7’ rumors will officially be confirmed or debunked, right before our eyes.
