Apple Seeds 6th Version of iOS 10 Beta to Developers

Apple has seeded its sixth beta version of iOS 10, two months after unveiling their newest mobile operating system in San Francisco.

The beta 6 version of iOS 10 is currently available to developers that are testing iOS 10. If you are a registered developer, you can download the newest beta on Apple’s developer page.

Among the changes the sixth beta brings is a fix to a dock glitch on the iPad that occurred in the previous version. Other changes include a bug fix for search hints in the Messages Store, and a fix for a bug that caused downloaded sticker packs to appear blank, Apple said.

Beta 6 is currently only being rolled out to registered developers, however.

For public beta testers, iOS 10 beta 5 — which added minor tweaks such as a new lock sound, widget UI updates, and a new Home app wallpaper — is available for those who want to try out the new operating system ahead of its release.

iOS 10 is a huge overhaul of Apple’s mobile operating system that will bring a wide variety of changes to iPhones, iPads, and other Apple mobile devices.

Among the most prominent updates are completely redesigned Music and News apps, an updated lock and home screen, and a complete overhaul of widgets — which now can be accessed when your phone is locked, according to Apple.

Other changes include a slew of updates to iMessage, including the addition of decorative effects, Digital Touch, and an app store specifically for Messages add-ons.

Most reports say that iOS 10 should be publicly rolled out sometime next month, likely ahead of the company officially announcing their new flagship phone.

Though no firm release date has been discovered, some rumors suggest that Apple is planning an event for September 7 — which is as likely of a day as any to officially roll out iOS 10.
