Latest iPhone 7 Leaks Confirm Dual-SIM Trays and 3.5mm EarPods with Lightning Adapter Included

Apple’s impending iPhone 7 is certainly a hot topic in the world of technology. With new advancements rumored to be heading to the device, as well as a few “shortcomings,” people are certainly excited about the latest and greatest coming from Cupertino. To add to all of that excitement, two new rumors have recently surfaced giving us a better idea of what to expect for Apple’s iPhone 7.

Talk about Apple’s removal of the iPhone 7’s headphone jack is nothing new, and this has actually become the most widely accepted iPhone 7 rumor, which has ultimately raised much controversy amongst Apple fans. Some people are angry, however either way, this curious decision has left people interested in what Apple would then include in the iPhone’s box. We’ve been long used to a fresh set of earbuds included with every iPhone or iPod purchase, but without a headphone jack, would Apple include headphones in the box? Well, if the latest rumor is true, then yes, yes they will.

According to Mac Otakara, who is generally reliable when it comes to Apple rumors, the iPhone 7 will be shipped with the standard Apple EarPods we already have at home. More interestingly, the rumor seems to simultaneously confirm the lack of a headphone jack, because the box is also said to include a standard 3.5mm to Lightning adapter.

This tactic is a strange and seemingly cumbersome workaround. It would probably be in Apple’s best interest to include Lightning-ready EarPods in effort to deflect the already negative perception of a new phone without an industry standard headphone jack.

Another rumor comes from the land of leaks, better known as Chinese social media site Weibo. The image shows alleged iPhone 7 components, which include dual-SIM trays. The advantage of dual-SIMs would give the iPhone 7 the capability to send and receive messages or phone calls from two different phone numbers (think work and play).

According to Mac Rumors “dual-SIM technology would also enable iPhone 7 users to use multiple carriers based upon network coverage, pricing, and other competitive differences. A customer in the United States, for example, might elect to use AT&T for nationwide voice and text messaging and T-Mobile for cheaper and unlimited 4G LTE data.

Dual-SIM support would differ slightly from the Apple SIM, which allows cellular iPad users to easily switch between different short-term data plans from select carrier partners using one SIM card. The Apple SIM is particularly useful for traveling abroad, with coverage in more than 90 countries and territories.”

The iPhone 7 is also expected to feature a game-changing dual-lens camera system, a similar form factor to the iPhone 6s, faster LTE and Wi-Fi, and 256 GB of storage among many other improvements. Get your hands on the iPhone 7 when it’s released later this year.

Would you use dual-SIMs on your iPhone 7? Or is one phone number enough?
How about a 3.5mm to Lightning adapter? Or is it finally time to invest in a pair or wireless Bluetooth headphones?
