Your state’s most used emoji is really weird. Okay, that’s not totally true for every state. As it turns out, populations of various states are extremely normal. The people of a few other states, have some serious explaining to do.
SwiftKey goes on to say that “These findings come from an analysis of one billion emoji from aggregate SwiftKey Cloud data, an opt-in service offering backup and sync of your language insights. This is occasionally analyzed for pertinent trends, as well as to make sure SwiftKey’s predictions are as accurate as possible.”
Cool, so here are some of their findings!
We can see here, the most commonly used emojis reflect many great features of the Golden State. Yes California has great bike trails, beautiful oceanic sunsets, delicious Pho, and plenty of fresh sushi. Things Californians don’t care about so much: Snow and football.
New York must be in a constant party-mode as their emoji usage reflects celebration and dancing. Other popular emojis include public transportation and an eggplant (insert your own interpretation here).
