You Told Us Your September 9th Event Predictions – Here Are the Results

Last week we published an article, with six polls, asking our readers to predict what they think will happen at this year’s Apple fall event. Questions included topics ranging from the redesigned Apple TV, to the heavily rumored iPhone 6S, to the workhorse iPad Pro, and more.

While we won’t know any official information until the keynote happens, this hasn’t stopped us from making a few predictions. Find the poll results on the following pages! Check back after the keynote on September 9th to see which rumors you guessed correctly and which rumors were pure speculation.

Question 1

We’ve learned that Apple will most likely be announcing the iPhone 6S on September 9th. More importantly, the highly sought-after device should be available for pre-order on the 11th (bumped up from the previously reported date of the 18th).

It is likely that we will see the iPhone 6S in stores on September 18th (bumped up from the previously reported date of the 25th). All of the information we have gathered sums up to a quicker iPhone 6S release schedule, which is enough to make any eagerly waiting upgrader happy.

Rumors have continuously jumped back and forth regarding the iPhone models Apple plans to release in the fall. Some sources state the iPhone 6C is in production and will be released concurrently with the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.

Other sources suggest that the iPhone 6C has been scratched all together, a belief that 54% of our readers also agree with. Interestingly, 13% of our readers believe that Apple has ditched not only the iPhone 6C, but the 6S Plus as well!

Question 2Various sources have leaked information, and a few sketchy photographs, suggesting that the iPhone 6S will be released in a pinkish “Rose Gold” color. We won’t know for sure how the casing will look in real life, however we assume it will be tasteful considering Apple’s renown eye-for-design.

We asked our readers how they felt about the rumored Rose Gold iPhone 6S color and we recieved mixed answers. The majority of readers are on the fence about the color, suggesting they’ll want to see it in person first.

People who had stronger opinions regarding the color, leaned over to the negative side stating that Rose Gold actually sounds ugly. We don’t know for sure if Apple will produce the new color chassis or not, but if  they do, 19% of our readers are genuinely excited about the color variation and reported they must have it!

Question 3We know that Apple is working on producing a brand new Apple TV system with upgraded memory, faster speed, and an enhanced remote control. Also in the works is an Apple created subscription TV service that (fingers crossed) could allow for al la carte television channel selections. Apple has seen some major setbacks due to issues with television networks, leaving us to wonder if the service will be ready by the new Apple TV’s official announcement.

68% of our readers don’t believe that Apple’s TV service will be ready, while 32% of you do believe that the service will be ready-to-go this fall, and we hope the latter is right.

Question 4Every iOS update seems to have a bug or two. Some are bigger than others, even causing security breach scares. While bugs are common, and mostly harmless, we still wonder “will they ever end?” Chances are we will never see the end of buggy operating systems simply because we are always demanding new software, and new software equals new bugs.

18% of our readers are undeniably optimistic, voting that iOS 9 will have all the bugs ironed out at launch, and with the new iOS beta testing system in place, they could be right.

Question 5New reports are backing up rumors that we will see an iPad Pro later this year. Some consumers are wondering if a 12.9 inch iPad Pro might be too big for practical use. In contrast, 63% of you believe that the larger iPad is exactly what Apple needs to bounce back slumping iPad sales.

Question 6Apple’s previous head honcho, Steve Jobs, was infamous for ending his keynotes with “one more thing.” He’d claim that presentation was over, only to bring the crowd back in, with his most exciting unveiling of the event. Tim Cook has brought back Jobs’ famous presentation quirk before, so there is a chance Cook might wait until the very end to divulge another huge surprise.

67% of our readers believe Apple will share with us a huge secret at the end of the event. What do you think the guys in Cupertino are working on? Let us know in the comments below!
