Acura announced its refreshed ILX model for 2019, which includes long-awaited styling updates and a heap of technology advancements.

On the exterior, Acura fans will notice its upgraded grille and body-kit that further aligns it with the rest of the Acura lineup. Powertrain remains unchanged from the 2018 model, which means all new ILX buyers will receive a naturally aspirated 201-horsepower, 2.4-liter, i-VTEC 4-cylinder with an 8-speed dual clutch transmission and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

The interior has also been drastically improved with sporty and plush red seats on the A-Spec trim. More importantly, the aging dual-screen infotainment system has been updated with enhanced responsiveness that Acura claims is 30% faster than the outgoing version.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now come standard, which is a major boon to Millennials and other new car buyers. Especially considering how the ILX is targeted toward younger individuals in the market and is the entry point into the Acura brand.

In addition to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, other notable tech features include its AcuraWatch driver assistance and safety suite. This safety suite comes standard, and features major additions like “Collision Mitigation Braking Systemâ„¢ (CMBSâ„¢) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW).” According to the company, “This makes Acura the only luxury brand to provide these features as standard equipment across all its sedans and SUVs.”
