How to Stream the Grammys on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV

The 59th annual Grammy Awards are right around the corner. This Sunday’s awards show will air at 8PM ET/ 5PM PT and run for approximately 3.5 hours. The Late Late Show’s James Corden, who is also helming Apple’s spinoff Carpool Karaoke series, will host the ceremony. The show itself will feature tributes to Prince and George Michael as well as performances by A-List singers ranging from Beyoncé and Adele to Daft Punk.

Here are two ways you can livestream the Grammy awards.

1. CBS All Access

CBS holds the exclusive broadcast rights to the Grammy Awards, which means that livestreaming options are unfortunately limited. Your best option is CBS All Access, CBS’s paid-subscription streaming service that offers access to live TV and on-demand content. The service can be supported on iPad and iPhone, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Google Chromecast, Xbox, and PS4.

The subscription comes in two payment tiers: $5.99 a month for the limited commercial option and $8.99 a month for the commercial-free service. If you don’t already have a subscription to CBS All Access and don’t want to pay for one, you can use your credit or debit card to sign up for a one week free trial just before the Grammys and cancel it before the term is up.

After that, all you need to do is download the CBS All Access app for iOS and tvOS from the App Store. If you’re using your Mac to watch the Grammys, just head to the All Access website and stream the broadcast from there.

2. Digital Antenna

If you don’t want to use CBS All Access, you’re options are extremely limited. If you have an Apple TV, you also have the option of purchasing an antenna to catch the over-the-air broadcast, though how well this works depends on how close you are to your local TV antennas. The upside is that you can use your antenna to catch over-the-air broadcasts of sporting events and awards shows on local channels long after the Grammy Awards ends.

You can head to Amazon to snag the AmazonBasics Ultra Thin Indoor TV Antenna, which is a popular option for indoor antennas. The AmazonBasics antenna comes in varying ranges between 35 miles and 50 miles and its cost also varies accordingly.

The Grammy website will also livestream behind-the-scenes coverage of the awards starting at 8PM ET. Red carpet coverage of the entertainers’ entrances starts earlier in the afternoon at 3PM ET.
