If you frequently share photos, links, or documents from your iPhone, you’re likely familiar with the sharing panel that pops up. This panel, referred to as a “share sheet” in Apple terminology, suggests contacts to whom you can send your content quickly.

While this feature is convenient to most, it might also include some stale contacts or people you no longer wish to see. Here’s a guide on how to manage and remove contacts from the share sheet on your iPhone, ensuring your suggested sharing contacts represent a more curated group or none at all.

Reduce the Frequency of a Contact Appearing in the Share Sheet

Contacts in the share sheet are generated based on your recent interactions in Messages, Mail, calls, and other apps. The contact suggestions are based on your communication patterns, not randomly selected. Here’s how to make a contact appear less and improve your share sheet.

  1. Tap the Share button from the content you wish to share.
  2. Long press on the contact you want to appear less often when sharing.
  3. Tap the Suggest Less pop-up bubble.

Remove All Contacts from the Share Sheet

Unfortunately, the only way to ensure a contact never appears in the share sheet is to delete the contact. However, if that’s not an option, you can disable the contact suggestion panel completely. Here’s how:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Select Siri & Search.
  3. Scroll down to Suggestions From Apple.
  4. Toggle off Show When Sharing.

If you want the suggested contacts back, follow the same steps and toggle Show When Sharing back on.

Customizing who appears in your iPhone’s share sheet will make sharing quicker and more convenient. Maybe manual removal of a specific contact will arrive in a future iOS update. We’ll add that to our wish list. Until then, these simple steps ensure your sharing suggestions stay relevant and really do improve your sharing experience.
