Exclusive Video Tutorial: 5 Pro Tips for iPhone Power Users

Here at iDrop News, we strive to provide the most useful iPhone tips you can find on the internet. In this video, we dive into a few powerful tips you may not have been aware of.

1. Facedown Detection

Battery life is certainly one of the most important facets of your iPhone, and powering your iPhone’s screen is usually the primary battery drain. Fortunately, Apple continues to add more and more features to the iPhone to conserve as much battery as possible.

You may have never heard of Facedown Detection, but it’s a nifty way to prevent your battery from draining while it’s simply laying on a desk all day. When your iPhone is lying face up, every notification, text message and phone call lights up the screen for a bit. Over the course of a day, this can eat up quite a bit of battery. However, if you leave your iPhone facedown, the screen will be prevented from turning on whenever you receive any sort of notification, which helps save up that battery life.

2. LED Flash for Alerts

If you typically leave your phone on silent this is a great tip for you. Head over to Settings > Tap on General > Tap Accessibility > Scroll down to the “Hearing” section > Tap LED Flash for Alerts > and switch on LED Flash for Alerts. After you’ve completed these steps, your phone will (you guessed it) rapidly flicker your camera flash in the event of an incoming phone call or message. This option is great for people who can’t hear very well, or typically leave their phone on silent and would prefer a more visual way to receive notification alerts.

3. Custom Vibrations

If you’re a fan of the vibration feature, you can actually assign specific vibration patterns to different types of notifications. If that isn’t enough for you, there is even the option to create your own vibration pattern. To do this, go to Settings > Sounds > Ringtone > Vibration > Create New Vibration.

4. Do Not Disturb

The Do Not Disturb feature is a handy way to make sure your iPhone won’t interrupt any important happenings during your day-to-day routine. Should you be attending an important work meeting, or in class, turning on Do Not Disturb will ensure that your iPhone won’t make a peep. To turn it on, head over to Settings > then tap Do Not Disturb. You can also access Do Not Disturb by swiping up the Control Center from the bottom of your screen and tapping on the moon icon.

5. Search for Keywords within a Webpage

Oftentimes, you’ll be searching through a lengthy article for a very specific piece of information. This takes a lot of time, however you can search for particular keywords on Safari’s mobile browser just like you would on the desktop version. To do this, type your keyword into the search bar > then click on Find on this Page. You can access the same feature by tapping the share button at the bottom of the screen > and clicking “Find on Page”
