Along with the iOS 10.1 update for the iPhone and iPad, Apple has released watchOS 3.1 for the Apple Watch. The update doesn’t come with any drastic changes or major new features, unlike watchOS 3, but instead focuses on bug fixes and minor adjustments for Apple’s smart wearable.

watchOS 3.1 includes changes to Messages, enabling you to replay full-screen effects and bubble effects, and it also allows you to replay effects when Reduce Motion is enabled. The update also helpfully addresses battery issues with the Apple Watch Series 2 model that prevented owners from fully charging them – watchOS 3.1 may even improve the battery life of your smart wearable.

The newest operating system release for the Apple Watch also fixes minor issues with the Timer and Activity apps, as well as the Force Touch mechanism. It gets rid of a bug that causes Timer to send the complete notification twice as well as an issue that could cause Activity rings disappear from the watch face. The update also clears a glitch that could block Force Touch from working in some third-party apps.

Not the most exciting stuff, but well worth downloading. Just remember that you need your Apple Watch to be plugged in and charged at least 50% before you can install the update.
