With every major software release from Apple, one can reasonably expect a multitude of new features, system wide UI enhancements, as well as a plethora of sweet surprises baked right in. However, with every new release also comes a litany of hiccups, changes to features that we’d grown so accustomed to using over the year or so prior.

Even iOS 10 — Apple’s latest, and most feature-rich mobile software update, to date — is not without it’s respective annoyances. Check out our top 5 most unloved iOS 10 features and how to reset or disable them to work exactly how they used to:

1. Make Touch ID Work Like It Did on iOS 9

I noticed a major difference in the way I’m able to unlock my iPhone via Touch ID when I upgraded to iOS 10, and I’m sure you did, too. For reasons likely having something to do with iPhone 7’s new force touch capacitive Home Button, Apple changed up the way that one is able to unlock their Touch ID-capable iOS device in iOS 10.

Like myself, however, you might miss the simple days, back in iOS 9 when all you had to do was simply place your finger on your iPhone’s Touch ID pad and, poof, you’re in! Fortunately, you can change this feature back to the way it used to be, though. Simply navigate to Settings > General > Accessibility > scroll down and select Home Button > finally, enable Rest Finger to Unlock.

2. Disable Raise To Wake

Another really annoying feature that’s enabled by default in iOS 10 is Apple’s new raise-to-wake function. By default, if you’re holding your iPhone by your side and you were to quickly lift it to your face, the screen will automatically turn on — without fully unlocking your device, of course.

If you’re not the biggest fan of your phone’s display turning on and off throughout the day, then perhaps you’d like to turn this feature off. Good choice! To do so, simply navigate to Settings > Display & Brightness > scroll down and uncheck the Raise to Wake setting.

3. Remove Dictation Button From Keyboard

Just in case you haven’t noticed yet, the microphone/dictation keyboard icon on iOS 10’s keyboard is back in full swing, regardless of whether you turned it off when you were on iOS 9 or not. Fortunately, however, you can go into settings any time and deactivate the button if you’re not the biggest fan of having it on your keyboard.

Simply navigate to Settings > General > Keyboard > and then toggle the Enable Dictation button On and then Off again.

4. Turn Off Auto-fill Contact, Email Info on iOS 10 Safari

iOS 10 includes an all-new keyboard setting that enables any online forms you access via the Safari browser to be filled out quickly — based on your saved contact, email, and personal search history, information. While some users may find this feature helpful at times, it’s understandable how others may not.

Therefore, to disable the Safari auto-fill feature, simply navigate to Settings > Safari > Auto Fill > toggle the Use Contact Info, Names and Passwords, and/or Credit Cards options to Off.

5. Clear Spotlight Search Results Cache

For some reason, Spotlight Search in iOS 10 automatically saves your search keywords and results, perhaps assuming that you may come back later wanting to search for the same thing again. Either way, it can be an equally annoying and embarrassing prospect to see your most recent search keywords pop up every single time you go to search your phone.

Fortunately, you can clear this cache of search results, however, by navigating to Settings > General > Spotlight Search > toggle Siri Suggestions to the Off position.
