Do you plan on buying Apple’s new AirPods? Do you also have the secret fear that they might fall out while you are wearing them, never to be seen again? Thankfully, M3D, the creators of a line of compact 3D printers, may have a solution for you: 3D-printed earrings — shaped like little baskets — that will catch your AirPods when they fall out of your ear. Which, for a pair of headphones that cost $160, is certainly a valid concern.

The earrings, dubbed the M3D Twisty Earbud Catchers, aren’t actually for sale at any retail outlet, online or otherwise. You’ll need a 3D printer to get your hands on a pair. Alternatively, there are a plethora of 3D printing services that you can upload the files to. They’ll print the earbud catchers and ship them to you — for a price, of course.

The company has posted the 3D printing files on design sharing website Thingiverse under a creative commons license — meaning they’re available to download for free. Although the press photos for the Twisty Earbud Catchers show them in blue, most 3D printers let you use your own colors, allowing you to customize your AirPod-saving earrings to your heart’s content.

Sure, they’re probably not the most stylish piece of jewelry, but at least they’re pragmatic.

As for when you’ll actually be able to purchase Cupertino’s answer to the headphone jack, there’s still no official word on when Apple AirPods will be available. They’re not available for preorder yet, and Apple’s website just lists the release date as “late October.”

In the meantime, at least you can print out a bunch of Twisty Earbud Catchers in advance. You can find the 3D printing files here.
