With prices of NAND flash memory falling at a graceful rate, many mobile device manufacturers have been able to considerably up the ante in recent years — offering customers rather impressive storage capacities on their devices, even at the base-model, at prices we couldn’t have possibly imagined just a few years ago.

Apple, in particular, is the perfect example of a tech-titan who’s transitioned in the flash memory space just so. The company recently began equipping its devices with larger amounts of storage — up to a whopping 256 GB, to be exact. And while the price premium is always paid for higher storage capacities, even the prices of those premiums, themselves, have been on the rapid decline.

Recent rumors have suggested, for instance, that Apple’s forthcoming iPhone 7 could start out at a base-model 32 GB storage capacity — or essentially double what the starting capacity of the iPhone 6s was just a year ago. Furthermore, recent rumors have also suggested that Cupertino could potentially be upping the top-tier storage on the forthcoming ‘iPhone 7’ to a whopping 256GB.

And a recently leaked image, which came to us just this morning, might even confirm that claim, too.

The image, which is said to have originated from a “noted” product specifications leaker, was originally provided to AppleInsider. As you can see, the list in the image appears to show rows and columns or various product specifications — including, most ostensibly evident, the red circled 32G/128G, and the “For Toshiba” 256G.

To the majority of us, that information is almost certainly meaningless. However, as famed Twitter leaker, @the_malignant, first pointed out, those tidbits are likely (though not guaranteed) to represent the 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB storage capacities, which are believed to be the magic numbers that Apple will employ on the iPhone 7.

Let’s back up for just a minute, though, because there’s still no 100% guarantee that this product specification sheet is even related to Apple products in the first place. However, the original leaker, according to 9to5Mac, has a “historically accurate track record” when it comes to similar spec sheet leaks — which almost always tend to emerge, like this one did, from the realms of Apple’s Far East supply chain..

So I guess it’s at least more credible than not, right?

Also, other Apple devices, such as the 9.7- and 12.9-inch iPad Pros, have been equipped with the same storage capacities shown on this sheet — including the 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB models, too.

So that’s also perhaps just a bit more “fuel to the fire” here.

Of course, only time will tell what’s going to be the actual case scenario, right? And, hey — Apple should be unveiling the ‘iPhone 7’ within the next few weeks! We’ve yet to receive an official word on the date and time, of course, but the first full week of September has been floated as a strong possibility thus far.
