Google has quietly updated its Nest app for iOS, adding several features, including Apple Watch compatibility.

Nest, one of the best known brands for smart home appliances, has finally gotten around to adding Apple Watch support in its latest update, according to SlashGear.

The new update allows you to control your Nest thermostat from your Apple Watch, without ever having to pick up your smartphone — making controlling the temperature in your house even more convenient.

Alongside the Apple Watch support, Nest also added several other features, mostly centering around its camera lineup.

Among the updates is the addition of a feature called “Spaces,” which allows you to group devices by rooms and view them all together. If you’re connected to a wireless network, you can view all of their live views at once, Nest announced.

It’s a feature that’s similar to Apple’s HomeKit, and especially useful because Nest products currently don’t support HomeKit integration, according to AppleInsider.

The update adds 1080p support for Nest’s Dropcam Pro, as well as automatic video quality scaling — which lets the app display a continuous, clear video stream, even if the bandwidth drops significantly, AppleInsider reported.

Additionally, Nest added the ability to share a password-protected live stream of your cameras. Whoever you grant feed permission to can view the stream on the internet, at video.nest.com.

The Google-owned company hinted at Apple Watch support earlier this month, according to MacRumors.

But this update isn’t the first time you were able to control your thermostat with a watch: Nest had already supported Android Wear devices, according to The Verge.

But now, at least, Apple Watch owners are invited to the party.

The Nest app is currently available on the App Store as a free download for phones running iOS 8 or later.
