The IFA is an annual consumer electronics event held in Berlin every September. Rumor has it that Samsung will be using the occasion as it normally does: in order to unveil a new product. This time around it is believed to be unveiling the upcoming Gear S3 smartwatch, which is the successor to last year’s Gear S2.

Images of the Gear S3, codenamed “Solis”, leaked earlier last month and revealed that the Korean tech company had partnered with Swiss watchmaker De GRISOGONO to work on a luxury limited edition complete with rose gold and white diamonds. PhoneArena notes that the watches bear a striking resemblance to Rolex’s signature faces in design, including a fluted watch face bezel and oyster bracelet.

Samsung’s smartwatches are known for resembling traditional watches and have garnered high praise for their design, Android Headlines reports. The outlet also notes that the Gear S3 will likely feature a rotating bezel control though not much else is know about it.

PhoneArena notes that Samsung used to debut its latest phablet at the event until it pushed the launch earlier to August in order to gain breathing room before Apple launches its iPhone in September. Stay tuned to learn more about the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 and Gear S3.
